Biography

Mikay has been a member of the Academic Resource Center since 2019. She is the Assistant Director and the Front Office Manager of the ARC, coordinates all study away and exchange programs, serves as an academic advisor for first- and second-year undeclared students in the Exploratory Program, and oversees programming and academic advising for international students on campus. Additionally, she serves as a lecturer in the CALL department, teaching introductory Spanish. She earned a Bachelor of Arts in International Studies, specializing in Latin America, and a Master of Arts in Global Studies from The University of Oklahoma.

She has traveled extensively, both domestically and internationally. This includes study abroad experiences in Costa Rica and Chile, which inspired her to transition into a career in international education at the university level. Previously, she taught Spanish and French language at the middle and high school level in Loveland, Colorado and Tulsa, Oklahoma.
