How did you discover Western?
A colleague came across the listing and sent it my way. Since I have a background in distance education and a passion for helping emerging screenwriters develop their voices, I knew it was a perfect fit.
What are some of the highlights of your career?
Developing a project with Oscar nominees Richard Suckle and Robin Swicord. Seeing the film I co-wrote (ONLY HUMANS) on screen with an audience.
What most excites you about your field?
In meetings with executives, managers and other industry experts I am constantly hearing a call for projects from diverse voices. There is still plenty of work to be done, but it feels like there has been a growing desire in the last few years to elevate voices that have been left out of the conversation in the past. I’m excited to be in a position to help emerging writers answer this call.
What is your favorite thing about the Gunnison Valley?
It’s so different from LA! The open space is conducive to creative work… And it’s nice to visit a coffee shop where people are not just there to work on their screenplays.
