Biography

What year in school are you and when do you plan to graduate?

I am a senior at Western, majoring in Politics and Government with a minor in Psychology. I will be graduating in December, but I’ll be staying in the Valley until at least next summer.

How did you discover Western?

After spending a few years outside of Colorado following high school, I missed the mountains. During my research into schools, I found that Western had a collegiate Mountain Rescue Team. The idea of mountain rescue sounded fantastic to me.

What are some of the highlights of your time at Western?

Being on the Rescue Team has been an incredible experience and a significant opportunity for personal growth. Academically, traveling with the Model UN team to New York and later to Germany was an amazing experience.

What most excites you about your major?

Politics and Government is fascinating to me. I love learning about how the US interacts with other countries, international aid organizations, and intergovernmental organizations like the UN and the EU.

What is your favorite thing about the Gunnison Valley?

My favorite thing about the Gunnison Valley is the accessibility of outdoor activities. From anywhere in the Valley, you’re never more than half an hour away from rock climbing, hiking, and backpacking, and never more than an hour from skiing or rafting, depending on the season.
