How did you discover Western?
I discovered Western on a high school college road trip my junior year. I liked the small class sizes, proximity to Crested Butte and the beautiful campus!
What are some of the highlights of your time at Western?
Western has allowed me to get into so many activities that I previously had no exposure to. I started climbing, progressed immensely in water sports, and made a ton of friends. I’ve also found so many opportunities within the school. I’ve been involved in clubs, been active on the Mountain Rescue Team, and now proudly work as a peer mentor. All of this while embarking on silly adventures on the weekends!
What excites you most about your major?
Business Administration is rad because I learn about all different aspects of business. I get to learn more about being a leader and how to run a business, which I hope to implement in my leadership positions and eventually into my career. Environment and Sustainability is great because I get to learn more about the environment, where it is at, what current policies are in place, and how we got there. I am super stoked to take my ENVS knowledge to the rest of the world.
What is your favorite thing about the Gunnison Valley?
Hartman Rocks, the Taylor River, and Crested Butte. I’m a little good at a lot of things, and living here allows me to casually enjoy any sport on the weekend, sometimes many in the same day! I also love our community. It is super accepting and engaging, and I really love seeing people I know all over town.
