How did you discover Western?
I discovered Western in the middle of my deep college search before my senior year in high school. I knew I was looking for a smaller school that provided me with a one-on-one learning experience. With the influence of Western Alumni, I visited Western that summer and was drawn to the beauty of the campus as well as the opportunities that the Elementary Education program provides at Western, especially the opportunity to student teach for a whole year at the end of my studies.
What are some of the highlights of your time at Western?
I really love that Western provides so much support for every student and that students are not lost in the crowd at Western. I will never forget having an overwhelming amount of support from the Western community and my professors while switching online due to the COVID-19 pandemic. This support really got me through the pandemic and is continuing to get me through the pandemic. Western also does so many things to get students engaged in campus events. I will never forget standing in awe of my peers while watching them ski and snowboard down a hill built on campus for Rail Jam.
What most excites you about your major?
Elementary Education is very important to me and I am very excited to be an inspirational and effective teacher one day! I am very excited for the opportunity to student teach for a whole year and the get that hands-on experience that is needed in the education field! I am also so excited to be able to educate the minds of the future!
