How did you discover Western?

I discovered Western through my first year of service as an AmeriCorps VISTA. Through the Schools of National Service search, my VISTA contact connected me with Western and showed me the unique partnership where I could do an additional year of service while starting my graduate education journey.

What are some highlights of your time at Western?

Thus far, highlights of my time at Western include the amazing fieldwork opportunities available throughout Gunnison Valley. Western is located in a beautiful place where you can enjoy the natural beauty year-round right from campus.

What most excited you about your major?

What excites me most about the MEM is the in-class discussions surrounding different environmental issues and brainstorming solutions. I also enjoy that we have field courses and trips throughout the 2-year program.

What is your favorite thing about the Gunnison Valley?

My favorite thing about the Gunnison Valley is the year-round sunshine and walkability of the town! All of the essential stores and most of the dining options are within walking distance of campus and the RTA bus is free.
