How did you discover Western?
I was searching the top NCAA Division 2 schools for track and field and Western’s name came up. Once I contacted the head coach, she flew me out right away to have a visit. That’s when I fell in love with the campus.
What are some of the highlights of your time at Western?
Being on the track and field team and seeing my teammates grow has been amazing. I love the connections I’ve made this far coming to Western. The professors are willing to help me without passing judgement and the students are very nice and unique as well. In my science classes they’ve taken us out of the classroom to apply what where learning in the real world which has allowed me to see what I really want to do with my major after college.
What most excites you about your major?
The professors love what they are delivering to the students and it makes class more enjoyable. In science there’s always something new to discover, and I love that I am able to look at science from two different perspectives with the clinical emphasis on my major.
What is your favorite thing about the Gunnison Valley?
The town is very close-knit, and someone is always willing to lend a helping hand. I’ve been hiking in the beautiful mountains this week and it was amazing; there are always beautiful sights to see within the town and amazing people on campus to experience them with.
