Major in Biology and emphasis in wildlife and conservation
How did you discover Western?
Growing up in Montrose CO, Western was highly talked about through high school as a close, affordable and respectable school.
What are some of the highlights of your time at Western?
The people I have met and the memories I have made from going to I-bar, eating at the Rare Air Cafe and skiing in Crested Butte are irreplaceable. Never have I experienced such close-knit friends and caring community.
What most excites you about your major?
With my major I can apply to be on a trail crew with the Forest Service full-time instead of seasonally, and I’m excited to get out into the field and take the field techniques I have learned here with me into my career.
What is your favorite thing about the Gunnison Valley?
My favorite thing in the valley is the fact that no matter where I am, I feel safe. I can ride my bike, walk or skate anywhere at any time and feel safe. That is something that doesn’t occur everywhere and I really appreciate it.
