How did you discover Western?
In my search for the right college I was looking for a school that had a division II swim team with a good student to teacher ratio. Western was the perfect fit because I wanted to live in Colorado and this school checked off all the other boxes that were important to me.
What are some of the highlights of your time at Western?
Western provides opportunities that no other college that I know provides. For example, wilderness pursuits offers a wilderness based orientation for incoming freshman and that program introduced me to so many people that are now some of my closest friends. WBO is one of the many highlights that I have experienced so far here at Western.
What most excites you about your major?
I have actually come to really like what I am studying here at Western because even though my major is very heavy in human biology, I also get to explore many other different biology classes and soak up a wide variety of knowledge in other areas of biology. This opens up so many different career pathways that I never even considered before and it just makes very excited to learn.
What is your favorite thing about the Gunnison Valley?
My favorite thing about the Gunnison Valley is the willingness of people to form connection and the love people share for the outdoors.
