Western Mountain Rescue Team

Mission Statement

The Western Mountain Rescue Team, under the jurisdiction of the Gunnison County Sheriff’s Office, strives to provide exemplary mountain rescue services and life-saving mountain safety education free of charge to the County of Gunnison, State of Colorado, and anywhere they may be needed. Through our partnership with Western Colorado University, we provide the opportunity for volunteers to grow as individuals, leaders and members of the community.
