Percussion Club

Mission Statement

The Western Percussion Club is an organization whose purpose is to encourage percussion activity at Western and in the Gunnison Valley. The goals of the club include enhancing percussion education and performance both on and off campus and to increase percussion-related resources available to all Western students. Fall semester meetings consist of masters classes, clinics, and interactive experiences based around a specific, predetermined percussion-related topic. In Spring semester, the group becomes the World Percussion Ensemble. This group learns global rhythms such as West African, Brazilian, and Middle Eastern and subsequently performs at a concert in Kincaid Concert Hall. All Western students regardless of level of musical experience should feel welcome to attend. Please contact Dr. Bunting or any of the student officers to express your interest.
