Medical Clinic

The Western State Colorado University health center provides convenient, barrier-free treatment of illness and injury to the students, faculty and staff of Western State Colorado University. The mission of the medical clinic is to promote a health model for students with an emphasis on primary prevention, health promotion and education all the while providing a clinical location for acute and chronic medical services.

The WSCU health center is a satellite of the Gunnison Family Medical Center and is staffed by a licensed Physicians Assistant or Nurse Practitioner. Over all medical oversight is provided by Dr. Jay Wolkov and the medical staff at GFMC. As a satellite of a larger family practice, the college clinic is able to offer students the convenience of an on-campus medical clinic with access to the expertise of internal medicine and family practice physicians.
