Emergency/Crisis Counseling

Who to call in a MENTAL HEALTH EMERGENCY or After-Hours: (available 24 hours a day/7 days a week) 

  • If you have a Mental Health Emergency or crisis after hours, please call (970)252-6220 (Montrose Number) and ask for the Mental Health Emergency Team Professional available 24 hours a day, 7 days a week.  Please tell them you are calling from WSCU/Gunnison and give them your phone number and name-wait by the phone.  You should be called back within 15 minutes.  If your call is not returned in 15 minutes, please call again. 
  • You may also go directly to the Gunnison Valley Hospital Emergency Room (711 N. Taylor Street) and ask them to page the Mental Health Emergency Professional on-call or immediately dial 911.   (There may be fees for hospital and lab charges).
