WSC Peak Productions Presents "Eurydice," Dec. 4-5 & 10-12
Western State College of Colorado (WSC) and Peak Productions present a modern retelling of one of the greatest love stories of our time, "Eurydice," by Sarah Ruhl. The play is directed by Dr. Paul Edwards.
The play is the breathtaking story of Eurydice and Orpheus, two young lovers who are tragically separated by the murder of Eurydice by a mysterious villain on the eve of their wedding.
The play relates Eurydice’s experiences in the Underworld, her reuniting with her father, and Orpheus’s journey to find her and bring her back to the land of the living. In their quest to be together, Orpheus and Eurydice face the dark Lord of the Underworld and his trio of stone-cold followers. Will their love for each other stand the test or will the Underworld keep Eurydice forever?
This play is a captivating drama suitable for the whole family that promises to keep the audience enthralled until the very end.
"Eurydice" will be presented in the Studio Theatre in Taylor Hall on Dec. 4-5 and 10-12 at 7:30 p.m. Tickets are $5 for students and $8 for general admission and are available in advance at the Gunnison Arts Center and a half hour before curtain.
