Upcoming WSC Music Performances, Oct. 21, 22 & 26

Oct. 20, 2010 -- The WSC Jazz Ensemble and WSC Symphony Band will share a concert at 7:30 p.m. on Thursday, Oct. 21 at the Gunnison High School.

The Jazz Ensemble will perform works by David Springfield, Sammy Nestico and Dave Lalama, while the Symphony Band program will include works by Percy Aldridge Grainger, Frank Ticheli, and Stephen Paulus. 

On Friday, Oct. 22 at 7:30 p.m., WSC faculty and students will present an “Evening of Music” in Quigley Recital Hall as part of the WSC Family Weekend. Performing in this recital will be the WSC Flute Choir, WSC Percussion Ensemble, WSC Modern Jazz Combo, WSC Trumpet Ensemble, WSC Chamber Singers, WSC Chamber Strings and WSC music faculty. Both events are free and open to the public.

On Tuesday, Oct. 26 at 7:30 p.m., WSC music faculty members John Wacker, trumpet, and Martha Violett, piano, will collaborate on a faculty artist recital in Quigley Recital Hall. The program will include works by Joseph Turrin, Ernst Sachse, Karl Pilss and Domenico Gabrieli. Also, on Oct. 26 at 12:30 p.m., WSC music students will present a student recital in Quigley Recital Hall. Both events are free and the public is invited to attend.
