Mountain Music Ensemble to Perform at WSC on Oct. 4
Oct. 3, 2011 -- The Mountain Music Ensemble returns to Western State College of Colorado (WSC) with two performances on Tuesday, Oct. 4.
Tenly Williams, oboe, and James Cline, guitar, will present a Guest Artist Convocation, “Collaboration in 21st Century Music,” at 12:30 p.m. in the Quigley Recital Hall. Featured in this discussion will be three works that Williams and Cline have commissioned by Colorado composers for oboe and guitar.
Williams and Cline will join WSC lecturer in music Becky Weidman-Winter, flute, for a performance at 7:30 p.m. in the Quigley Recital Hall. They will perform works by Haydn, Schubert and Shankar, as well as two recently commissioned works for oboe and guitar
Both events are free and open to the public.
The Mountain Music Ensemble is a collaborative, flexible-format ensemble based in Colorado. Williams and Cline often perform with Weidman-Winter, as well as other as other top-notch artists including composers and dancers.
