WSC Celebrates “Heritage to Horizon” Homecoming
Sept. 23, 2011 -- Western State College of Colorado (WSC) is planning a momentous Homecoming Weekend in celebration of its 100-year “Heritage to Horizon” legacy.

- Taylor Hall Time Capsule Installation and Rededication Ceremony
5:30 p.m., Taylor Hall Welcome Center (south end of building)
See the time capsule be filled with memorable items that will be preserved for the next 100 years or longer. President Helman, along with WSC Trustees and state legislatures, will be on hand to dedicate this 100-year-old, completely "new" building. A tour of Taylor Hall will be led by WSC alumna Julie Feier, associate vice president of finance and administration.
- Kick-off Celebration and Lighting of the “W”
7 p.m., Aspinall-Wilson Center
Hosted by the Office of Alumni Relations, this is the big event everyone looks forward to all year. We’ll have food, drinks, live music by Velvet Rut, fireworks, tent with a dance floor, the lighting on the “W” and lots of good cheer. This event is free. Note: This event is not open to WSC students.

Enjoy a traditional tailgating brunch by Sodexo. Students can use their meal cards and all others pay $8.50 (cash only) for an all-you-can-eat meal. - Alumni Rugby Game

Did you meet your spouse at Western? We know many of you met at Western and then went on to get married and have families, buy houses, start careers, etc., etc. All of us "Western Flames" are going to meet at the fire pit on the College Center Patio after the football game to celebrate our "Western-initiated" unions together. We'll be serving up wedding cake and will even have a little ceremony of celebration led by Vice President for Institutional Advancement Tom Burggraf.
