Welcome to the Music Department at Western!

The Music Department offers a variety of activities for majors and non-majors alike with many performing ensembles of all sizes open to Western's students.

At Western, students receive one-on-one guidance. Through regular contact with professors in classes, ensembles, and private lessons, students are encouraged to fine tune their abilities. 

Students grow not only as musicians, but as individuals able to apply the skills they learn, such as discipline and creativity, to all areas of their lives.

Our faculty are all professional musicians who perform, compose, research and present in addition to teaching in the classroom. 

Faculty are committed to achieving excellence in every area of music, providing our students with the skills they need to excel within the many career possibilities available in the music world today.
