Fall 2012 Class Schedule

Class Listings

 

Successful Registration for Continuing Students

  • Continuing students schedule an appointment to meet with your faculty advisor.  Advising is from March 12-16 and March 26-April 6.
  • Review DegreeWorks and the courses offered in the class schedule.  Make note of prerequisites.
  • Complete a draft schedule with general education (if applicable), and major/minor courses.
  • Meet with your faculty advisor to review your draft schedule.  Make changes as appropriate.  Obtain your ARC.
  • Registration for continuing students begins April 9.  Your specific time relates to the number of credits you have completed.
  • Check your MyWSCU account Registration Status Screen for instructions, the date, time of registration, and any holds on your account.
  • Register at, or as soon after, your registration time to get the best class availability.  Watch for error messages.
  • Go to the tab marked, "student schedule by day and time" to confirm you are registered appropriately.
  • Your bill is due the 1st day of the semester.  Pay by the deadline to avoid late fees.
  • Congratulations on successfully registering for classes.

Successful Registration for New Students

Academic Policies

  • Academic Policies are found in the current University Catalog beginning on page 25.

  • Eligibility for Athletics, Financial Aid and Veterans Benefits is 12 credits in a 16 week term.

  • A standard course load is 15 credits. Students may enroll in 18 credits without special approval.  Refer to your catalog for information about taking more than 18 credits.

  • Student doing an independent or directed study or an internship must complete a variable credit form and return it to Registration Services prior to the start of the course work.

Changing Residency

The petition for in-state tuition classification and accompanying documentation must be submitted to the Admissions Office no later than the first day of class for that term in order to be considered an in-state student for that term. For Fall 2012, the deadline to petition is August 28, 2012.

Attendance on the First Day of Classes

Instructors reserve the right to drop students from class rolls if they miss the first class meeting. If circumstances, such as weather or flight arrangements, prevent a student from attending the first class session, it is the student’s responsibility to contact each instructor to request the seat be held. A directory of instructor office and telephone numbers is available online using the directory.

Fall Graduation Information

Students who plan to complete all degree requirements by the end of thel term must have filed an Intent to Graduate form with the Registration Services Office by the end of their Junior Year.  If this has not been completed, students should meet with their advisors immediately to initiate the process. 

Students MUST complete an Application for Graduation by September 7, 2012. Submit completed applications to Registration Services, Taylor Hall 300.

As Western holds commencement in Spring only, students who wish to participate must plan accordingly.  Contact Ginny Hayes with further graduation questions.

For information about textbooks, log onto the bookstore's website to get the name of the book and pricing information.

Weekend classes must be added no later than the close of business day prior to the class date.

After drop deadline also requires Department Chair approval.  Must be done in the Office of the Registrar Taylor Hall.

Weekend classes must be dropped by contacting the Office of the Registrar at 943-7003, by the close of business day prior to the start of class.

No permission required.  Refund will be given if applicable.
