Bands

The Symphony Band is open to all students through audition. Throughout the academic year, the Western State College Symphony Band schedules frequent campus and community performances. The study and performance of wind literature masterpieces are emphasized.

Varsity Band performs for home football and basketball games.

Jazz Ensembles

WSC Jazz Ensembles are open to all students by audition. Groups include the large Jazz Ensemble, "High Altitude" Dixieland Combo, and Modern Jazz Combo. Ensembles perform on campus, in the Gunnison-Crested Butte community, and at state and national jazz festivals.

Orchestra

This group performs together regularly as a string ensemble, full orchestra and a small chamber group. The WSC College-Community Orchestra and Choir combine together to perform major works.
