ESS Suggested 4-Year Course Sequence

ESS Standard Major

Broad based major that gives students a thorough knowledge base in the academic subdisciplines that make up ESS. Students must complete a minor in another discipline.

Exercise Science: Clinical Track

Comprehensive major grounded in the natural sciences which is designed to prepare students for a variety of post-graduate options in exercise science (e.g., graduate school, professional certifications, entry-level job)

Exercise Science: Health Fitness Track

Comprehensive major that focuses on the application of exercise science coursework to a variety of health and physical activity settings. This major is designed to prepare students for an entry-level job as well as professional certifications.

K-12 Physical Education Emphasis

Comprehensive major designed to prepare students for a teaching career in physical education. Successful completion of teacher education requirements and coursework, including the internship year, will result in students obtaining a teaching license from the State of Colorado.

Sport And Fitness Management Emphasis

Major focuses on the "business" of the sport and fitness industries (e.g., marketing & promotions, event and facility management). Students must complete a minor in another academic discipline.
