Why Are You Interested in Graduate School?

Here are some reasons to look into attending Graduate School:Why Grad School Image

  • I have done some research on myself and realize that this specific graduate program matches my interests, personality style, aptitudes, values, and the skills that I enjoy using.

  • I have researched various career fields. I have used books, brochures from professional associations, and I have talked with alumni about different career fields. To learn more about career fields, I have had an internship, or done volunteer work in the field, or held a summer job. Because of my research, I know that the job I want to get requires that I have a Master's degree or a Ph.D.

  • I love a subject so much that I want to teach and/or do research in the field as a college professor or as a research or policy specialist. In addition, I have done research on the career field. As a result, I know what jobs in this field are like, and I understand that the job outlook in my specific field of study is very promising.
