Up one level
At Western I'm involved in the Environmental Studies Center, Climbing Club, Residence Life, and the OUTDOORS. I chose my major, Environmental Studies, because I've always been very aware of how much I enjoy the natural world, and I feel somewhat responsible for our future since I am part of it. One thing that sets Western apart from other colleges is that it is one huge outdoor laboratory! My favorite professor at Western is Dr. John Hausdoerffer because he redefined the role of a teacher for me. He radiates intelligence, and lets his class teach itself, only giving direction when necessary. My favorite thing about Western is how friendly everyone is. No matter who you see, they will likely be willing to give their two cents, or even just offer up some conversation. One of my favorite campus traditions is the Week of Welcome. It's a lot of fun cruising around town talking to people and enjoying the town of Gunnison with my friends. After graduation I hope to be living somewhere that I enjoy and working in profession that makes me happy. |
