Brittney Jeck

At Western I am involved with the Sustainability Coalition and the Community Garden. I am also the recycling coordinator for Western.

My favorite class at Western was Human Communications with Terry Schliesman. He is a very personal professor who takes the time to get to know you as a student.

Western is the right place for me because I am able to get a valuable education and have all the amazing outdoor opportunities at my fingertips.

This summer I travelled to Costa Rica for part of my internship with Finca Bellavista, a sustainable treehouse community that is owned by Matt and Erica Hogan, who are Western graduates. And now in the fall I’ll be doing a public relations internship from Gunnison for their business.

When I graduate this May I plan to travel to New Zealand and then to Nepal to visit Mt. Everest Base Camp with my sister Amber (who is also a Western graduate). I also plan to apply to graduate schools.
