Student ProfilesUp one levelSpenser Li“WSCU has the most incredible opportunities — almost too many opportunities. And it’s the best area for adventure sports possible." Valerie Ramos"Western is right for me because the students are empowered to identify what is important to them and then be aggressive in supporting that cause." Erika Espinoza"I’m not a 'snow bunny,' so I find as much to do on campus as possible to keep myself engaged." Danielle Lauridsen"I love Western because it has allowed me to connect with my professors and I’ve built friendships for life." Briana Vigil"I have become a very strong leader and more opinionated. I have confidence in myself which helps me to exert my leadership in a positive way." Sam Degenhard"There are not many places where you can work out a problem 1-on-1 with your professor in their office after class and shred with them the next day on the slopes." Francesca Pavillard-Cain: World Traveler, Business & Spanish Double Major“There’s not one person here that fits the mold... that’s the beautiful part of it.” Joshua BruningMeet Joshua Bruning, a 2009 WSCU graduate who is using his Exercise and Sport Science degree as a Operations Assistant with the Denver Broncos. Briant WilesBriant Wiles is a Senior who's interning with the City of Gunnison and may just revive a local ski hill. Chris KonikChris Konik is a Senior from Colorado Springs majoring in Professional Land & Resource Management. Alice SternI feel like when I walk into a classroom I am connected to the other students and the professor personally. It is so different than being just a number in a large lecture class that larger institutions offer. I also love how easy it is to be involved on campus. I am more than a number at Western. Instead, I am an important member of my program and I matter to my professors and colleagues. Dakota BrownThis place is like a private college, and I don’t think I would have had the same opportunities and personalized attention elsewhere. |
